President Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed the law on the voluntary return to service of those who voluntarily left the military unit or deserted for the first time.

Details: The Council voted for this law on November 21. It provides that during the martial law for military personnel who first voluntarily left the place of service, but then voluntarily returned, military service and the validity of the contract continue.

Cash payments and provision of food, material, other types of support, benefits and social guarantees are renewed for such soldiers.

Also, according to the new law, criminal proceedings under Articles 407 and 408 of the Criminal Code, initiated against servicemen after the first SZH, “are not grounds for refusing the continued military service of such servicemen and the validity of their contract.”

What preceded: On November 21, the Verkhovna Rada generally supported the draft law on voluntary return to service for those who voluntarily left military units or deserted for the first time.
