The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: the forces of the Russian Federation are concentrated in the Pokrovsky and Kurakhiv directions, but they were activated in three other areas

As of 4:00 p.m., there were 80 Russian attacks on the front, the main efforts of the enemy will continue to be concentrated on the Pokrovsky and Kurakhiv directions – there he conducted more than half of all attacks. This is reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the headquarters, the forces of the Russian Federation are also active in the Lyman, Kupyan and Vremiv directions, where another 15 clashes are ongoing.

In the Pokrovsky direction, since the beginning of the war, Russian troops have already made 31 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from their occupied positions in the areas of Myrolyubivka, Promeny, Lysivka, Krutoy Yar, Dachensky, Zhovtoy, Chumatsky, Novy Trud and Pustinka.

Also in the Kurakhiv direction, Russian invaders attacked 31 times in an attempt to advance near the settlements of Sontsivka, Berestki, Novodmytrivka, Kurakhove, Dalnye, Elizavetivka, Romanivka, Antonivka, and Hnativka.

The enemy did not conduct active operations in the Orihiv and Gulyaipil directions, the General Staff adds.

The American Institute for the Study of War stated in its report on November 17 that the Russian army will probably focus in the winter of 2024-2025 on capturing front-line Ukrainian cities and on urban battles.

According to the project of Radio Liberty Donbas.Realii, the main battle of the winter will obviously be the battle for Pokrovsk, to which the Russian army is approaching from the south and southeast.
