The decision on the venue of the competition is expected before the start of EuroBasket 2025. Among Spain’s main competitors for this role, Slovenia and Greece are currently being considered. Previously, Slovakia also expressed preliminary interest in organizing the tournament.
Spain has rich experience in hosting EuroBasket. It has already hosted the tournament three times on its territory — in 1973, 1997 and 2007. In addition, it is the Spanish national team that is the current champion of Europe, having won the EuroBasket 2022.
We will remind that EuroBasket-2025 will be held in four countries: Poland, Latvia, Finland and Cyprus, and the final stage will be held in Riga. The announcement of the host of the 2029 competition will be an important stage in the preparation for the upcoming basketball festival.
Earlier, the coach of the Ukrainian national team, Vitaly Stepanovsky, commented on the defeat of the team against the Israeli national team.
