In Kyiv region, joint meetings with business continue within the framework of the “Government and Business Dialogue” platform initiated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
Today, the seventh meeting was held, which was devoted to the topic of supporting the reintegration of veterans into professional activities and opportunities for business cooperation in this matter with regional authorities and communities.
The event was attended by the head of Kyiv OVA Ruslan Kravchenko, representatives of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, regional employment center, veterans and employers.
Providing veterans with a job or helping them start their own business is a priority for Kyiv region.
Thus, 98 veteran businesses, launched thanks to the “Grants for veterans and their family members” program, are already operating in the region. Veteran entrepreneurs develop online services for the creation of chatbots, provide services for the installation of solar power plants, create greenhouses, grow greens, open cafes and educational institutions.
Currently, 80,276 war veterans and family members of the dead live in Kyiv region, of which 53,689 are veterans with the status of UBD.
As of today, there are more than 2,600 vacancies for veterans in the database of the employment service, which is why the Kyiv region is actively developing employment mechanisms for veterans and is ready, if necessary, to provide support from entrepreneurs and authorities at all stages.
In addition, 8 educational veteran spaces will be created in the Kyiv region to conduct retraining courses for war veterans. Such spaces will be opened on the basis of vocational and technical education institutions and will offer mentoring programs for war veterans and their family members, in particular, training in grant writing and assistance in employment or retraining.
It is important that in order to strengthen the possibility of business participation in the program “Affordable loans 5-7-9%” in the Kyiv region, a joint project with the Entrepreneurship Development Fund is being implemented – “Additional reimbursement of part of the interest to the level of 0% per annum to micro, small and medium-sized entities entrepreneurship”. In particular, it is included in the rating selection criteria of MSME entities that employed combatants. This will be a greater incentive for employment of war veterans. Thanks to such innovations, about 30 combatants have already been employed.
“Today, within the framework of the “Dialogue of Government and Business” platform, we also presented successful cases of employment of veterans in the Kyiv region. And these examples show that the integration of veterans is mutually beneficial for all parties and motivates and inspires enterprises to create new opportunities for employment. I thank those businesses that have already accepted our defenders into their teams, and I am sure that after our meeting today, the statistics will only grow,” Ruslan Kravchenko emphasized.
