The Finnish group of defense and security companies Summa Defense in cooperation with Ukrainian partners is creating a factory for the production of drones in Finland. This was reported by the press service of Summa Defence. The Finnish group will create a subsidiary company, Summa Drones, which will lead the joint venture with Ukrainian partners. Ukrainian companies participating in the project are Kort, Elf Systems, Skyassist and MPS Development. The purpose of creating a factory in Finland is to quickly increase production capacity for drones used in combat operations in Ukraine, as well as to introduce industrial production of drones in Finland and Europe.Advertisement: Large-scale production of air, land and sea drones is planned to begin in the first half of 2025. Advertisement: “Demand for drone technology and manufacturing capacity is high. There will be drones to be supplied not only to Ukraine, but also throughout the European Union and NATO countries,” said Summa Defense General Director Jussi Holopainen. The creation of a factory in Finland is considered a strategic investment aimed at strengthening the reliability of supplies of unmanned systems both in Ukraine and on the international arena. We will remind: the government of Finland intends to build a TNT factory on its territory as soon as possible in order to make up for the shortage of ammunition after the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, and is asking for help from NATO.
