The Ministry of Defense made a number of important changes to Regulations on military medical examination in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The corresponding order of October 14, 2024 No. 686 entered into force on the day of its official publication (November 20).
The document clarified terms of medical examinations. It has been established that the terms of conducting medical examinations, as well as laboratory and instrumental studies cannot exceed 4 days.
If necessary, refer the person to additional laboratory and instrumental studies to obtain complete and objective information about her state of health, the general period of medical examinations, as well as laboratory and instrumental studies cannot exceed 14 days.

Passage of the VLK: how long is the decision of the commission valid
According to the resolution of the CMU No. 560, reservists and conscripts who were assigned to equip military units in peacetime (institutions) with the delivery of mobilization orders during the mobilization deployment of the Armed Forces and other military formations, are called up for military service during mobilization, for a special period based on the results of previously completed medical examinations and their survey on the presence or absence of health complaints. Reservists or conscripts who have no health complaints are not sent to the VLK.
Active military personnel may be sent to the VLK during the treatment of a wound, trauma, mutilation, or contusion.
In peacetime, the validity period of a certificate with a conclusion on fitness for military service is five years. Reservists and conscripts fit for military service are given a mobilization order.
Reservists and conscripts who were assigned to equip military units in peacetime (institutions) with the delivery of mobilization orders during the mobilization deployment of the Armed Forces and other military formations, are called up for military service during mobilization, for a special period based on the results of previously passed medical examinations and their survey on the presence or absence of health complaints. Those who do not have health complaints are not referred to the VLK.
Persons who have not undergone a medical examination or whose decision has expired (resolutions) on suitability for military service, are sent to the VLK.
In the case of reservists and conscripts undergoing a medical examination during mobilization and/or martial law, the validity period of a certificate with a conclusion on fitness for military service is one year.
That is, the certificate is valid for five years during peacetime and one year during martial law.
