Home Internet will work during a power outage if the provider switched to xPON technology. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister for Innovations, Development of Education, Science and Technologies – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov. “Home Internet can work from different networks, but only energy-saving ones will continue to work during power outages. If your provider switched to xPON, connect the router and the ONU device to the power bank – and you will have normal Internet,” he said. Fedorov noted that “the easiest way to find out if this technology is in your house is an Internet map during power outages (https://misto.lun.ua/internet).” Advertisement: “We launched it with “LUN City” exactly a year ago. If there is no xPON in your house – find someone who has already connected it, in the nearest house. We will remind: the National Center for Operational and Technical Management of Telecommunications Networks (NCU) has issued an order according to which mobile operators must ensure the availability of mobile services during 10 hours of power outages. “Kyivstar”, “Vodafone Ukraine” and lifecell issued a joint statement in which they informed their users that it is extremely difficult to ensure 100% autonomy of mobile communication and the Internet for 10 hours during outages. “Vodafone Ukraine” was obliged to eliminate violations of requirements for increasing energy independence
