Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko believes that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi will sign the law on the historic tax increase soon, because there is no other option.

He announced this on the air of the telethon, he reports UNN.

We have fulfilled all the structural beacons for a successful review of the IMF program, and we have successfully achieved all performance criteria and quantitative indicators. For today, we have 2 front-end measures that we have to complete: the entry into force of the law on the budget and the entry into force of the law on changes to the tax code, which provides for a significant increase in taxes

According to him, the signing of the tax law is very important, because without it, the 2025 budget will be unbalanced after revenues.

“I have no doubt that the President will sign the draft law on tax increases in the near future. The Ministry of Finance and the Government are very much looking forward to the signing. At the very least, we have no other options,” said the Minister of Finance.
