Just spoke to Mark Rutte, Secretary General of NATO. Yesterday, a meeting of our Ukraine-NATO Council was held due to Russia’s use of a new ballistic missile. And today, with Mark, we discussed the available response options – the necessary strengthening of the air defense of Ukraine. I have named specific air defense systems that we need that might work. Partners have these air defense systems. And it is very important: the decisions of the NATO summit in Washington regarding air defense and other supplies for the front have not yet been fully implemented, we are very much expecting this, and this has a significant impact on the motivation and morale of our people. The recent authorization of long-range strikes on military targets in Russia has helped. But the pressure on Russia must be maintained and increased at various levels. So that Russia feels what war is. We discussed contacts with our partners – with America and others, our coordinated work with them for the purpose of fulfilling what we have already agreed on, and for the necessary additional strengthening – both military and political. In particular, for the sake of inviting Ukraine to NATO is a strategic political step – an invitation that our people definitely deserve and that can really help. Thanks to Mark for the help and briefing on his communication, on his negotiations with partners.
Today is a very active day in general: many meetings, in particular at the highest level, with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Umyerov in the Republic of Korea. On my behalf. Rustem Umyerov also spoke with the President of South Korea, with his colleague – the Minister of Defense, as well as with the National Security Adviser. The range of questions is obvious. This is everything related to Russia’s involvement of North Korea in the war against Ukraine – all aspects of this involvement. And what we can do together. Together for the protection of our peoples and for the security of our regions. The presence of not only missiles and shells from North Korea in Russia’s arsenals, but also soldiers at the front is the globalization of war, which Russia has embarked on and which can only be stopped globally. And after Minister Umerov’s return, I await his report on the negotiations in Seoul.
There was a report by the Head of the Syrskyi Committee. As always, regarding all the details of the frontline situation and the operation in the Kursk region. Donetsk remains the hottest destinations. First of all, this is the Kurakhiv direction – the most battles there, the most brutal assaults. Also Pokrovsky direction, Kupyansky. I am grateful to all our units – every soldier, sergeant and officer who destroys the occupier and ensures the protection of our positions.

Held a meeting today with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Marchenko, and representatives of the Verkhovna Rada. We discussed the main parameters of the state budget for the next year, our financial readiness both for this December and for the next year. And they agreed that tomorrow I will sign the law on the state budget for the next year – immediately after the law arrives from the Verkhovna Rada. The main thing is that all financial needs of Ukraine for the near future and for the next year are guaranteed.
