We have already sent an official note to the Polish side with a corresponding request and are waiting for concrete details. There are many citizens of Ukraine in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, so we consider Poznań as one of the possible locations for expanding the consular presence in Poland,” said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Recently, during a meeting with residents of Roketnytsia in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radosław Sikorski, said that if Ukraine applies to use the real estate that will be vacated after the Russians, to open its own consular office in this city, then Warsaw will treat it with “greatest sympathy.” .
The lease of this property expires at the end of November, and by then the Russians will have to vacate it completely, he explained.
At the same time, as of today, the network of Ukrainian consulates, taking into account the unprecedented growth of the number of Ukrainian citizens in Poland, does not meet consular needs.
In the coming days, Russian diplomats will leave the consulate in Poznan, Poland. At the same time, the Polish government will be sympathetic to Kyiv’s request to organize a Ukrainian consulate in the same place.
