On November 27, the entire Russian-occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as part of the territory of the Kherson region not under the control of the Ukrainian authorities, was left without electricity due to damage to the power transmission line. This was reported by the representatives of the occupation administrations of Zaporizhzhia Yevhen Balytskyi and Kherson region Volodymyr Saldo.

According to Balytskyi, socially significant objects are currently connected to backup power sources, he did not name the reasons for the damage to the power lines. After the shutdown of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, the Russian-occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region receives electricity from another Ukrainian region captured by the Russian Federation, Crimea.

In the Kherson region on the morning of November 27, there was also an emergency disconnection on the Dzhankoy – Melitopol power transmission line. 172 settlements and more than 137,000 people remained without electricity. Electricity was partially restored within an hour, 69 settlements remain without electricity, Saldo said.

The Ukrainian authorities did not comment on reports of power outages in the Russian-occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
