Former Spanish goalkeeper Raul Arribas commented on the competition between the goalkeepers of Real Madrid – Thibaut Courtois and Andrey Lunin:
“The return of Courtois is bad news for Lunin. Tybo is probably the best goalkeeper in the world. But the shadow of such goalkeepers as Courtois, Ter Stegen or Casillas in their time is too big. Lunin is an excellent goalkeeper, but he often loses in comparison, because he has to fight with a monster,” Arribas summed up.
Courtois has played 13 matches, conceded 10 goals, and kept a clean sheet in 5 matches.
In the current season, Lunin played 5 matches for Real Madrid, conceded 8 goals, and did not concede in 2 matches.
