Biden will ask Congress for another $24 billion for Ukraine before the end of his term

With less than two months to go until the end of his term, US President Joe Biden plans to address Congress with a request to allocate additional funding to aid Ukraine in the amount of $24 billion. This is reported by Politico UNN.

The funds will be used to strengthen military support for Kyiv and replenish the US stockpile, which was reduced after the transfer of some weapons to Ukraine. According to the publication, $8 billion of this amount is planned to be used to finance the Initiative for the Promotion of Security of Ukraine – concluding contracts with American companies for arming Kyiv, the remaining $16 billion will be used to replenish the US arsenals. Congress may include aid to Ukraine in a vote on a bill to prevent a shutdown next month. The deadline for Congress to pass a resolution to prevent a government shutdown is December 20.

Some Republicans have already opposed such a decision.
