The OP leader noted that 6-year-old Maria lived with her grandmother and grandfather in a village in the occupied Donetsk region. “After the death of the grandmother, the girl was left only with the grandfather. He was afraid that the occupation authorities would take his grandson away from him, realizing that the only way to save the child was to evacuate to a safe area. Today, Maria is safe with her mother and younger brother,” said Yermak.
Also, according to him, another 14-year-old girl, Veronika, after losing her parents, got into a foster family in the Kherson region. However, due to the Russian occupation of her village in 2022, her life changed. “Constant stress and fear had a negative impact on the child’s health, and the lack of stable communication and electricity made the learning process difficult. Today Veronika is already at home,” he emphasized.
Yermak added that the president’s task to return all Ukrainian children is ongoing.
