— The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is investigating the supply of low-quality 120-mm mines. Their preliminary investigation results point to possible causes of the defects, including poor-quality powder charges or improper storage conditions of the ammunition, which led to their damage. In the latter, they already saw the possibility that they want to blame the military for this. What conclusions should we draw from this situation?

— This is worse than eggs for UAH 17. This is worse than the story about overpaying for eggs. Why? Because eggs and other food, albeit more expensive, were still available. Let it be three times more expensive, but it was. And where there was not even food to save this corrupt margin, food could be bought. Without being in a position, you can go out and buy eggs at the market.

But you can’t buy 100,000 mortar rounds anywhere. If they don’t shoot, explode, or hit the target, then you simply have nothing to shoot at. And this means that your infantry is not covered. And this means that the infantry dies, the defenders die. Here between incompetence or corruption and death is just one step.

That is why this story is worse than 17 eggs. And that is why it is very important that we, as a society, understand it in detail, understand who does not work and punish him; and that does not work to remount the procedure itself.

What are we seeing now? We see the desire of politicians and officials to shift the blame to the military. Friends, this is disgusting. The Ministry of Defense, which began to talk about the fact that the improper storage conditions and because of this, the mines do not fire, do not explode or do not fly out of the mortar. This is a lie. And I have two arguments why this is a lie.

The first argument: reports of non-working mortar shots in the thousands officially arrived in mid-September. Do you remember what September was like? +20 — +23 with excellent weather. The weather in September could not affect the quality of mortar fire. This is a lie. And when [нардеп Федір] Venislavskyi from the specialized defense committee blames the military, it just doesn’t make sense.

By the way, I want to remind you that the specialized committee of the parliament on defense behaved just as disgustingly in history with [колишнім міністром оборони Олексієм] Reznikov. They smeared him, said that there were no problems, that the journalists made it up. Twice they legalized his lies at their closed meetings.

I have a request to the deputies: you are the first to understand this whole system. Not again [журналісти Юрій] Butusov, not again [Юрій] Nikolov, not public organizations again. You should have done it. As deputies, you have not learned any lessons from Reznikov’s case. You are now blaming the military, because you know for sure that the problem is not theirs. This is the first argument why the problem is definitely not in the military.
