Matoulonis suggested that such a discussion could be raised by NATO foreign ministers at a meeting in Brussels next week:
“First of all, the process of training the troops depends on them, and perhaps some countries will join sooner or later.”
Earlier, the French publication Le Monde, citing sources, reported that some Western countries are again discussing the possibility of sending their troops or private military companies to Ukraine.
Later, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tagnani said that his country would not send its soldiers to war in Ukraine. And Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said that he does not think it is a good idea to send a contingent of Western troops to Ukraine, as the risks of such actions far outweigh the benefits.
