The State Border Service of Ukraine informs about this.
The incident happened at the “Tysa” checkpoint, where a 44-year-old man from Kharkiv was heading to Hungary by bus. During the inspection, he provided his passport and photocopies of the children’s birth certificates issued by the state authorities of Ukraine and Moldova. The border guards doubted the legality of the Moldovan certificate.
The man initially insisted that he was the father of three minor children, one of whom was born in Moldova. However, during the interview, he admitted that he has two children, and his wife bought him the certificate.
The border guards refused him to cross the border and passed the information on to the National Police. Criminal proceedings have been opened against the man under Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, their sale, use of forged documents.” The court will decide the further fate of the offender.
