Thus, in Kyiv region in October 2024, a local resident of Berezan of the Brovar district received an “order” through Telegram to set fire to the premises of “Nova Poshta” for a monetary reward. The man acted according to the clear instructions of his supervisor. He poured an incendiary mixture over the entrance door of the department and set it on fire. After that he fled from the scene.
In Prykarpattia, a local resident received an offer of “easy earnings” through the Telegram messenger. Involving a previously convicted acquaintance, she gave him the customer’s contacts.
In August 2024, the man received the task of setting fire to a railway cabinet, which was of strategic importance. He bought a flammable substance, doused the object and set it on fire. He recorded his crime on video and sent it to the customer.
The next day, the customer ordered a gray-green car to be set on fire. In the yard of the city, a man found a Renault Traffic car, doused it with a flammable substance and set it on fire. The attacker filmed the process again for the report.
All the circumstances of the crime and the identity of the customer are established. One of the versions is involvement in the organization of arson by the special services of the Russian Federation. The suspects are charged with sabotage and intentional destruction of property (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 113, Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Currently, preventive measures in the form of detention have been chosen for both of them.
