Political scientist Maksym Dzhigun spoke on the air of Radio NV about the possible dismissal of the head of the State Administration of Ukraine Kyryll Budanov, which is again planned at Bankova, in particular due to special operations in Africa, statements about “coffee in Crimea” or defense purchases in other countries, as reported by the NV source.
Budanov has been saying statements about Crimea and the rest of the things that are pleasant to the ears of a Ukrainian for quite some time. It seems to me that now the rhetoric of powerful men, let’s say, is changing somewhat and becoming more cautious. And especially now in the conditions of the change of the American administration.
But, undoubtedly, Budanov is a visible figure of Ukrainian politics, Ukrainian military affairs. This is a person who has a high level of support from around political circles and in Ukrainian society, in particular from people connected to the military and people connected to the movement to return prisoners of war to Ukraine.
Therefore, it seems to me that this is a typical story for a country in a state of war: the longer it lasts, the more decisions appear, in particular personnel. Remember the hundred-year history of Ukraine during the time of Petliura, how many different commanders and other things changed. But here is another story.
This is about the fact that it is not a fact that such permutations will lead to an improvement in the quality of decision-making and to the fact that they will look more convincing. Here it is also worth considering the public feeling of whether it is worth doing or not. Because the most important thing, perhaps, in the conditions of war, besides, of course, the war itself, is the preservation of control over society, public sentiments, avoiding any conflicts that could lead to the loss of this faith in individual officials. Therefore, it seems to me that this is a step that can, in particular, affect these sentiments.
But we may not have the full picture of the whole situation. In public manifestation, any of the officials is one person, in matters of negotiations, fulfillment of obligations and management decisions, it can be other people. Especially in the conditions of a state of war, when we do not have complete information, there may be many factors that we will learn about in a few years already after the end of the war, which will seem to us absolutely phantasmagorical, but nevertheless, real.
