Former vice-president of the Tennis Federation of Ukraine Yuriy Sapronov spoke about the future of the famous Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolinaassessing her prospects in the next season.

“The WTA1000 is definitely capable of winning. Look, she’s 30. What’s 30 years old? Like a lot. But the first serious injury happened now. I think the biggest achievement when she was little was that we took her very calmly and without rushing.

Despite various temptations from different sides, she won the Junior Roland Garros under 18 at the tender age of 16. There were a lot of offers, but we spent a lot of time on the restoration. I think that this played a role, because in such a difficult career of a top athlete, Elina suffered her first serious injury only at the age of 30,” said Sapronov.
