I met with President Recep Erdogan to discuss the growing challenges to our collective security, including the threat of terrorism, the war in Ukraine and the crisis in the Middle East
As noted in the NATO press service, Mark Rutte praised Turkey for its “firm support of the Ukrainian defense industry with ammunition, artillery and necessary assistance, as well as for its key role in initiatives such as the Black Sea Grain Agreement and other diplomatic efforts.”
In turn, the press service of the Turkish Communications Board reported that the officials discussed “what can be done to stop the war” that the terrorist state has started against Ukraine.
Among other topics, the press service mentions the NATO summit in 2026, which will be hosted by Turkey, and the solidarity of the alliance allies with Ankara in the “supply of defense industry materials”, as well as Turkey’s contribution to NATO.
After the visit to Turkey, Mark Rutte will go to Greece, where he will meet with the Prime Minister of the country Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
