Kirby’s direct speech: “Now they can use ATACMS for self-defense in case of immediate need. And now, it is clear that this is happening in the Kursk region, in the Kursk region.”

He indicated that he would leave it up to the Ukrainian side to say “how they use ATACMS, how they define targets, what they use it for, and how well they do it.”

Kirby’s words became the first official confirmation that Ukraine had received permission to strike Russia with American long-range weapons. The first use of ATACMS in the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation became known privately last week.

After that, the master of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, threatened Western countries, which allow Kiev to strike Russia with its weapons, with retaliatory strikes.
