This is reported by the mission, transmits UNN.

Details

Between 24 February 2022 and 31 August 2024, the UN mission documented 376 cases of conflict-related sexual violence involving 262 men, 104 women, 10 girls and 2 boys

It is noted that more than half of the documented cases concern men – mainly those who were tortured in captivity in the occupied territory or in the Russian Federation.

The mission emphasized that conflict-related sexual violence is a violation of international human rights, humanitarian and criminal law.

Preventing this kind of violence and bringing the perpetrators to justice is a joint responsibility based on the obligations of states in the field of human rights.

We will remind

Over 95% of Ukrainian prisoners of war were tortured in Russia. On the other hand, in Ukraine, the attitude towards prisoners of the Russian Federation is completely different.
