On November 21, one of the intermediaries was detained while receiving payment for the “service”. Currently, as reported, the issue of detention and notification of suspicion to the rest of the participants of the arrangement is being resolved.
The detainee was informed of the suspicion of obtaining an illegal benefit by an official (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces up to 10 years in prison.
It is also reported that during the search of the house of one of the possible suspects, he took out a service weapon and pointed it at the DBR employees. He brought the firearm to a combat position, demanded the return of the seized mobile phone and to leave his house with threats.
Currently, he has been detained and reported on suspicion of attempted murder of law enforcement officers in connection with the performance of official duties (Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The question of choosing a preventive measure and removal from office is being resolved.
For what he has committed, he may face life imprisonment.
