Due to the actions of the Russians at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, equipment degradation is increasing, and the power plant itself is in disarray.

This was stated by Petro Kotin, head of NAEK “Energoatom”.

“There is practically no station. There is a military base there, there are military personnel, incomprehensible personnel,” adds the head of NAEK.

Petro Kotin emphasizes that it is necessary to resume the transmission of data about what is happening at the ZNPP – the official operator “Energoatom”, the regulator and the IAEA as soon as possible.

He added that Zaporizhzhya NPP has not had a single incident in 40 years of operation by Ukraine. However, after the seizure of the ZNPP by the Russian invaders, it turned into a threat.

We will remind:

The IAEA calls for the immediate withdrawal of Russian military and other personnel from the territory of the Zaporizhia NPP and the return of the plant to the control of the Ukrainian authorities to ensure its safety.

One of the six reactors was repaired at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) after a small water leak was detected from the impulse line – part of the reactor’s cooling pump support system.
