In Ukraine, the winter period may be characterized by an increase in prices for meat, eggs, sugar, oil and dairy products of up to 15%.

This was announced by the deputy chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council Denys Marchuk during a telethon, UNN reports .

As for egg prices, prices are much higher than last season, but this is characterized by higher prices for the cost of production in the context of preparing the feed base, because the price of feed corn, which is one of the components, accounts for about 70% of the price formation, including for chicken and eggs, it has risen significantly compared to last season

He believes that somewhere in the next few weeks there will indeed be a certain lull in the price position, but with demand due to the New Year’s  holidays, prices may also go up.

“In general, the winter period may be characterized by an increase in prices for meat, eggs, sugar, oil, and dairy products of up to 15%. Lard may also increase in price,” Marchuk said.

On November 15, analysts of the EastFruit project reported that prices for onions in Ukraine have dropped significantly due to falling demand and increasing supply. Small farms are actively selling products from unequipped storage facilities, which leads to a 13% decrease in price per week.
