Blocking the traffic of trucks at the checkpoint “Medyka – Sheghini” has ended. This was reported by the State Border Service of Ukraine in the evening of November 24.
– According to information from the Polish side, the protesters stopped blocking cargo vehicles in front of the “Medyka” checkpoint. For now, Polish farmers have stopped protesting. Passage of all categories of vehicles on this route is carried out in the usual mode, – said in the Telegram channel of the DPSU.
Polish edition RMF24 wrote that this happened after Polish Minister of Agriculture Czesław Szeklerski met with Polish protesters. According to the agreements reached, by November 26, farmers should submit to the ministry the requirements discussed with the head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy. Sekiersky said that he would prepare an answer by December 10. In his X, Czeslaw Siekierski wrote that the negotiations took place in Medici, where he came.
Wracam z Medyki and I have the conviction that we end the day with dobrym zasiewem. In the morning, I was talking about what to talk about, and in the evening, I thank the farmers for the decision to suspend the protest. Mamy concrete:

- The blocking of the checkpoint “Medyka – Sheghini” began in the morning of November 23, that is, it lasted almost all weekend. Polish farmers announced a 48-hour strike with a possible extension. Vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tons were not allowed to enter Poland. One truck per hour was allowed to leave Poland. The restriction did not apply to passenger cars and buses. About 30 people with Polish flags walked along the pedestrian crossing of the national road No. 28, which leads to the border with Ukraine. The police were at the protest site.
- This time the farmers’ protests are taking place for two reasons, but neither of them directly concerns Ukraine. Farmers have complaints against the government for failure to fulfill promises, in particular regarding additional payments for cultivated products and failure to increase taxes for farmers next year. Polish farmers are also protesting against plans to sign a trade agreement between the EU and South America.
