Identification of pensioners in December

Pensioners who received IDP status until February 24, 2022 and have not passed physical identification by March 31, 2024, to continue payments can be verified in December in any convenient way.

It is important to know that in 2024 the funds of pensioners who have not passed the verification will be accumulated on the current account until the moment of their identification. After passing, the pension will be transferred to the pensioner’s account from the month in which the financing of the payment stopped.

In addition, pensioners who are abroadcan go through the physical identification procedure in December and confirm their right to a pension. Pension payments to such pensioners will be made to the current accounts of banks located on the territory of Ukraine, provided that they undergo physical identification by December 31 of each year.

All methods of passing identification

Identification can be done in one of the following ways:

▪ personally apply to the branch of Oschadbank JSC or to any convenient service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine with an identity document (passport of a citizen of Ukraine);

▪ through a personal account on the electronic services portal of the Pension Fund of Ukraine using a remote qualified electronic signature Action.Signature (Action ID), created using the mobile application of the Unified State Portal of Electronic Services;

▪ using video conferencing in the territorial body of the Pension Fund of Ukraine;

▪ in the foreign diplomatic institution of Ukraine obtain a document certifying that the individual is alive, if a pensioner from among the IDPs is abroad. The certificate issued in the prescribed manner together with the application for identification (arbitrary form) should be sent to the territorial body of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, where the pensioner is registered. The original of the certificate together with the application can be sent by postal means or in scanned form – through the portal of electronic services of the Pension Fund of Ukraine using the means of a qualified electronic signature.

For failure to pass identification in 2025, pensioners-IDPs may have money taken from their accounts

In the draft law on the state budget for 2025, the government offers to withdraw money from bank accounts resettled pensioners registered until February 24, 2022if these accounts not used during the yearor if a retired IDP failed identification.

Article 41 of the draft budget for 2025 obliges Oschadbank transfer the remaining funds on the pension accounts of internally displaced persons opened in this bank, back to the PFU.

At the same time, funds will not be withdrawn from the accounts, if a seizure or other encumbrance is placed on these accounts.

It is also provided that if, after withdrawing funds from pension accounts, the resettled person decides to apply to the PFU or Oschadbank, then the state will resume pension payments to such a person.
