“Georgy Ermakov believes that it all started with teamwork”, — write: sport.ua
‒ Oleksandria played 17 championship matches without defeat. What do you think is the root cause of such a confident performance?
‒ Team work. Joint work of all process participants. Ruslan Petrovych has been working with the team for almost two years, his work and his vision take time. And, I believe, we are now seeing the results of implementing his ideas.
‒ Rotany football is very difficult to implement. How comfortable are you playing such a specific football where you, in particular, are under serious pressure from the opponents, given your involvement in the ball?
‒ There are requirements and an understanding of what I have to do and what my role is. As for the pressure, you understand that your role will cause it, and you have to deal with it.
‒ But was it difficult or natural for you personally to adapt to such requirements?
– This is a normal situation. After all, we practice it every day and prepare for it with our goalkeeper coach Volodymyr Tymenko.
‒ What do you feel in such moments when you are with the ball at your feet near your own goal and several opponents are coming at you for selection?
‒ I focus more on the decisions that need to be made at one moment or another.
‒ But what is more important at this moment: drive, courage and adrenaline or maximum pragmatism and involvement in the episode?
‒ It’s a combination of adrenaline and at the same time not a lot of emotions, because you understand that you need to make decisions and take further actions, you can’t get stuck.
‒ In “Olexandria” you are competing with the really high-quality goalkeeper Nikita Shevchenko. How much does this competition enrich you personally in terms of progress and experience?
‒ Our competition with Nikita Shevchenko is really very important for me, as a young player, from the point of view of experience. For this, it is enough to simply look at the number of matches and at what level he played them. Eurotournaments, extensive experience in the UPL, he went to Euro-2016.
You watch from the sidelines and learn because you understand that a person has not just played so many matches and won medals with several teams. It has many strong qualities. And you, as a competitor, watch and learn.
‒ To what extent are the legionnaires of the team involved in this?
‒ I think the advantage of our legionnaires is that there are four of them who speak Portuguese. They understand each other well and do not feel alone. But there is no such thing as they are separated from the team and communicate only separately. They are integrated into the general team. They are all positive, kind and honest guys. They are very much loved by the fans, especially Bezzeru now.
