India’s antitrust body has rejected Apple’s request to stay an investigation report that found the company violated antitrust laws, allowing the case to continue.

About this testifies the internal order of the regulator, which was reviewed by the Reuters agency.

In August, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) ordered the withdrawal of investigative reports after Apple said the watchdog disclosed trade secrets to competitors in a case dating back to 2021, including Tinder owner Match.

CCI asked the parties to return the reports and destroy all copies. After that, the regulator issued new reports.

The CCI’s internal order shows that in November, Apple alleged that the lead complainant in the antitrust probe – Indian non-profit organization Together We Fight Society (TWFS) – failed to comply with directives to ensure that old investigation reports were destroyed.

Apple has asked the CCI to “take action against TWFS for not complying with its order” and “withhold the revised” report.

“Apple’s request to postpone the investigation report was rejected,” the Indian antitrust authority said in its order.

CCI’s investigation found that Apple used its dominant position in the app store market on its iOS operating system to the detriment of app developers, users and other payment processors.

Apple has denied wrongdoing and said it is a small player in India, where phones running Google’s Android system dominate.
