In Ukraine, there is an increase in the number of sabotage against security forces, in which attackers use remotely activated explosives.
One of such incidents occurred in the Dnipro district of Kyiv. A package was left near the car, and a camera was installed nearby that broadcast. During the walk-around, the soldier noticed the package and bent down, after which the explosives were detonated remotely. The serviceman died.
Another case happened in the Pechersk district of Kyiv. The police received a report from a woman about violence by a man. After arriving at the scene, the law enforcement officers entered the apartment, where they heard the sound of a grenade. They managed to close the door, and the explosion occurred in the corridor. No one was injured, and those involved in the incident were detained.
These events indicate a dangerous trend in the use of explosives in urban settings, which requires increased security measures and a thorough investigation to identify the organizers.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine and the police detained five accomplices of the Russian special services, who arranged arson attacks on Ukrzaliznytsia and Ukrposhta facilities in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, and Sumy regions. They face life imprisonment.
Three branches of “Ukrposhta” in Kyiv were set on fire by a 16-year-old boy recruited by the Russians.
