“I am sure that next year we have every chance to do it (end the war – ed.). There are appropriate steps for this… We understand that Russia will not take all these steps. But there is a UN charter and all our steps , which are based on the UN charter, will be supported by partners,” he said.
Zelensky also noted that his meeting with Trump depends on many things, including the legitimacy of its holding, while preparatory meetings are possible before the inauguration.
“I don’t know when the meetings will be, I don’t have the data, the teams are working. It depends on many things, it depends not only on the schedules, it depends on the legitimacy of holding the relevant meetings. If we want meetings where some issues are resolved … these legislative opportunities will take place after the inauguration. If we have any preparatory meetings, they may be before the inauguration,” he said.
At the same time, the president emphasized that before the meeting, it is important not to give “an opportunity for one or another wave, one or another environment to quarrel between the president of Ukraine and the president of the United States.”
