Beach tennis received the official status of a sport in Ukraine. This decision was adopted by the Sports Recognition Commission on November 14, 2024.
“The recognition of beach tennis is the result of the coordinated work of athletes, coaches and enthusiasts. This is a new stage in the development of a discipline in which Ukraine already has achievements on the international arena,” said Dmytro Hyrych, head of the Beach Tennis Department of the Tennis Federation of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian national team took part in the European Championships three times, and the players entered the top 100 of the world rankings. Now the official recognition will be an impetus for the popularization of this sport.
