Pistorius explained that the decision not to put forward his candidacy for the post of chancellor was entirely his own. In the fight for this position, he supported the current chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz. “Olaf Scholz is a strong chancellor, and he is the right candidate for the position of chancellor,” the German defense minister explained, adding that, in his opinion, Scholz “stands for reason and prudence,” which is especially important in times of crisis like the present.
