According to the publication, the theft happened around 10:30 local time, when the museum was open to the public. Four robbers in masks and hoods broke into the building with axes and baseball bats, they broke the windows and stole five collection boxes and snuff boxes that are about 300 years old.
According to the city hall of Paris, the municipal police intervened immediately after the events and no one was injured. The Paris City Hall also issued a press release in which it stated that it “strongly condemns this violent action.”
A special group of psychologists works for law enforcement officers and museum visitors who took part in the incident. The Paris prosecutor’s office has started an investigation into this fact.
