The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Raphael Grossi, promised that the agency will soon continue missions at all substations, which depend on the safe operation of Ukrainian nuclear power plants.

Grossi met with Minister of Energy German Galushchenko in Vienna. The minister informed the director general of the IAEA about the consequences of the recent large-scale attack by Russia, the target of which, in particular, was substations, which are critically important for the production of power by nuclear units.
According to him, despite the previously conducted IAEA missions and experts’ determination of the importance of the operation of substations as a guarantee of nuclear and radiation safety of nuclear plants in Ukraine, the attacks are only intensifying.
“We must continue monitoring in order to document the consequences of this attack and in order to avoid such attacks in the future,” Herman Galushchenko said.
The Director General of the IAEA assured that the Agency is ready to organize relevant missions in the near future.
Earlier, the Director General of the IAEA, Raphael Grossi, reported that the Russian missile-drone attack on November 17 was aimed at substations, which depend on the reliable operation of the Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, and South Ukrainian NPPs.
