Strengthening of defense cooperation: the President’s Office held meetings with the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue

Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva held a meeting with the director of the Department of Security Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Wouter Juergens, and the director of the Department of Europe, Eric Weststrate.

Ihor Zhovkva thanked the Netherlands for firm support of Ukraine during the thousand days of resistance to full-scale Russian aggression and separately noted the country’s military, financial and humanitarian aid in the total amount of almost 9 billion euros, as well as a significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s anti-missile defense.

Particular attention is paid to the security situation in Ukraine against the backdrop of the intensification of massive Russian missile strikes before the start of winter. Ukraine and the Netherlands agreed to continue working with partners to strengthen the protection of Ukrainian skies.

The meeting also discussed the deepening of bilateral cooperation in the field of arms production and strengthening of collective security in Europe.

“We in Europe should invest more in defense needs and spend more on security. We are grateful to the Netherlands for their interest in supporting Ukrainian arms production. We are counting on the appropriate contribution for the purpose of increasing its production,” said the deputy head of the President’s Office.

Advisors to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Daria Zarivna and Oleksandr Bevz met with the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, as well as representatives of the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue David Gorman, Kristan Bobochea, and Stanislav Sereda. The parties discussed the implementation of the Peace Formula, ways to achieve a just, stable and comprehensive peace for Ukraine and agreed on further steps to strengthen our state’s support in this direction in the face of increased escalation by the Kremlin regime.
