In the autumn of 2022, the “Recovery Army” project was launched in Ukraine, the purpose of which is to provide financial support to citizens and promote the restoration of infrastructure, residential premises, and civil defense facilities. Currently, more than 200,000 referrals have been issued for temporarily unemployed Ukrainians who are ready to help rebuild the country. As you know, wages in the amount of more than UAH 1.6 billion have been paid so far.
It is worth noting that the project covers 19 regions of Ukraine, and the most active are:
- Kharkiv region — 32 thousand referrals;
- Donetsk region — 24 thousand. referrals;
- Kyiv region — 23 thousand referrals;
- Chernihiv region — 22 thousand referrals;
- Poltava region — 22 thousand. directions
Those involved in the project are offered various types of work, including assistance to victims of hostilities, as well as direct infrastructure restoration and construction of facilities for the Armed Forces. So, for example, they offer to unload, package and deliver humanitarian aid, equip and strengthen roadblocks, fortifications, engage in the construction of civil defense protective structures, etc. The scope of these works depends on the needs of a specific region.
What needs to be done is determined by military commands and local administrations, who then pass this information on to the employment service. Those who are looking for work are already contacted in the employment centers. For this, the participants need to sign a temporary employment contract, according to which the salary is 1.5 times the minimum wage, that is, about 12,000 hryvnias for a full month of work. However, some participants of the “Recovery Army” project have already received offers from employers and received permanent employment.
