In the Lviv region, detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security seized almost 350,000 electronic cigarettes with prohibited substances.

The illegal import of goods was discovered during the inspection of the accompanying documents and declarations that arrived at the “Lviv-North” customs post. The importer provided documents that contained false information, and one of the Odesa enterprises was indicated as the recipient of the disposable nicotine-containing electronic cigarettes.
BEB detectives conducted inspections of vehicles and seized more than 346,000 units of goods worth UAH 24 million.
In addition, according to the results of the laboratory tests, it was established that the fillers for the detected electronic cigarettes are prohibited by the Law of Ukraine “On measures to prevent and reduce the use of tobacco products and their harmful effects on the health of the population.”
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the full range of persons involved in illegal activities is currently being established.
Earlier it was reported that intermediaries in Ukraine resold barbed wire for fortifications, which are manufactured in the institutions of the State Criminal Enforcement Service. Because of this, the budget has already lost about UAH 300 million.
