Germany announced a new military aid package for Ukraine

On November 20, the German government announced a new military aid package for Ukraine.

The full list of provided weapons and military equipment is published on the website of the German government.

As part of the new aid package, Germany promises to provide Ukraine, in particular:

  • ammunition for MARDER BMP;
  • 47 vehicles with mine protection (MRAP);
  • one TRML-4D radar station;
  • four Panzerhaubitzen 2000 self-propelled howitzers with spare parts and more than 40,000 ammunition for them (caliber 155 mm);
  • 20 VECTOR reconnaissance drones with spare parts;
  • 12 HORNET XR reconnaissance drones;
  • 100 RQ-35 HEIDRUN reconnaissance drones;
  • 120 SONGBIRD reconnaissance drones;
  • 60 Golden Eagle reconnaissance drones;
  • two VT-4 Ray reconnaissance drones;
  • two BIBER cars with spare parts;
  • three WISENT 1 demining tanks with spare parts and three plows for demining;
  • eight Caracal tactical airborne vehicles;
  • 20 protected vehicles for the border service;
  • six M1070 Oshkosh heavy-duty semi-trailers;
  • 8,000 cartridges of 40 mm caliber;
  • 100 thousand HLR 338 rifles with 314 thousand cartridges for them;
  • 100 thousand cartridges for small arms;
  • 233 thousand bundles;

The German government noted that so far about 5 billion euros (2023) and about 1.6 billion euros (2022) have been spent on military aid to Ukraine. Another 2.9 billion euros were allocated in the first two years of the war for supplies that will arrive only in 2025-2028.
