The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk.
The head of state thanked the Polish people for their solidarity with Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion and personally the Prime Minister for his principled reaction to the latest shelling by the Russian Federation and attempts to end the political isolation of the Russian dictator.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Donald Tusk discussed the continuation of defense cooperation. The Prime Minister reported that Poland is preparing for the transfer of the 45th support package and has already started work on the next defense package.
Particular attention is paid to expectations from Poland’s presidency of the EU Council in the first half of next year. The President expressed hope for support from Poland in the negotiation process with the European Union regarding the opening of the first cluster of negotiations and others in parallel.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi thanked the Prime Minister for involving his extensive personal contacts in advocating Ukraine’s accession to NATO and continued defense support.
The leaders agreed to intensify personal contacts and hold a meeting by the end of this year.
