General Staff: there were 139 combat clashes at the front during the day

Last day, 139 combat clashes were recorded at the front, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in the morning briefing on November 20.

According to the report, most of the fighting took place in the Pokrovsky and Kurakhiv directions.

“In the Pokrovsky direction, our defenders stopped 38 assault actions of the aggressor in the districts of Promenya, Lysivka, Petrivka, Dachenskyi, Myrolyubivka, Novotoretskyi, Yuryivka, Pustinka and Pushkini. In the Kurakhiv direction, the Defense Forces repelled 23 attacks. The occupiers most actively tried to advance in the areas of Novoselidivka, Sontsivka, Berestki, Kurakhovoy, Dalniy, Elizavetivka, and Antonivka,” the command noted.

In addition, battles continued in the Kharkiv, Kupyan, Lyman, Kramatorsk, Toretsk, Vremiv, Orihiv, Dnieper directions.

“Yesterday, the enemy launched two missile and 73 air strikes against the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, used five missiles and dropped 124 anti-aircraft missiles. In addition, the Russians used to destroy 1,445 kamikaze drones and carried out more than 4,400 attacks, of which 173 were from rocket salvo systems,” the report says.

The American Institute for the Study of War stated in its report on November 17 that the Russian army will probably focus in the winter of 2024-2025 on the capture of front-line Ukrainian cities and on urban battles.

According to the project of Radio Liberty Donbas.Realii, the main battle of the winter will obviously be the battle for Pokrovsk, to which the Russian army is approaching from the south and southeast.
