If the USA decides to cut military aid to Ukraine, our country will lose. Own production is not enough to resist.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this in an interview with the Fox News channel.
During the conversation, the journalist addressed the president with a clarifying question regarding his recent statements about the possibility of negotiations. We are talking about Zelenskyi’s interview with Ukrainian Radio, where he said the following words.
“We are an independent country. And we, during this war – both our people, and I personally in negotiations with the USA, and with Trump, and with Biden, and with European leaders – proved that the rhetoric of “Sit and listen” does not work with us”, – said the president .
Recalling this context, the Fox News journalist asked Zelensky what would happen if the US government cuts military aid to Ukraine. To which the head of the Ukrainian state said that in this case, Ukraine would most likely lose.
“If they cut, I think we will lose. Of course, in any case we will stay, we will fight. We have our own production, but it is not enough to win. And I think that is not enough to survive. But if this is the American choice, we will decide what to do,” the president said.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is confident that Ukraine will be able to establish cooperation with the team of the newly elected US President Donald Trump.
Earlier, Zelensky noted that contradictory statements by representatives of Trump’s entourage can be made for different purposes: to assess the reaction of societies, to draw attention to himself, or even to demonstrate his position. However, these statements have no official weight until Trump himself receives the power.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his hope for the support of the newly elected US President Donald Trump in the event of negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow regarding the end of the war.
