The situation at the front remains tense. The hottest now is in the Pokrovsky and Kurakhiv directions, according to the summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on November 19, as of 4:00 p.m.

“The enemy most actively attacked the Ukrainian defenders in the Pokrovsky direction. Here, during the day, the aggressor carried out 19 attacks in the Promenya, Lysivka, Petrivka, Dachenskyi, Pustinka and Pushkini districts. The defense forces restrained the onslaught and repelled 16 enemy attacks, three clashes are ongoing. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the districts of Stara Mykolaivka and Oleksandropol,” the summary states.

According to the headquarters, the Russian aviation dropped 14 guided aerial bombs on the territory of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

“The situation is also tense in the Kurakhiv direction, where since the beginning of the day the invader has attacked our units 13 times. Tried to advance near Novoselydivka, Sontsivka, Berestki, Kurakhovo, Dalny and Antonivka, carried out airstrikes on Romanivka and Hannivka, battles are currently ongoing in six locations, seven attacks have already been repulsed,” the military said.

Russian troops also advanced in the Kharkiv, Kupyan, Lyman, Siver, Kramatorsk, Toretsk, Vremiv, Orikhov, and Dnieper directions.

In total, according to the Armed Forces, the number of combat clashes is 86.

The American Institute for the Study of War stated in its report on November 17 that the Russian army will probably focus in the winter of 2024-2025 on the capture of front-line Ukrainian cities and on urban battles.
