This was reported by the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavlyuk, in an interview with Ukrinform.
“If we talk about the Ground Forces, almost 30,000 military personnel have been trained on the territory of the partner countries. About 20,000 of them are under the basic military training program,” Oleksandr Pavlyuk said.
The commander also emphasized that, in general, the quality of training of the mobilized has already changed, it has increased significantly. From November 1, 2024, the duration of the BZVP course in educational centers and training centers has increased — 45 days instead of 30.
“That is, it has increased one and a half times. In addition, the program became not only longer, but also significantly changed in quality. This is the fourth revision of the course since the beginning of the large-scale invasion. Now there are more practices, more anti-drone training,” Oleksandr Pavlyuk explained.
He added that since November 1, recruits have been actively studying countermeasures against UAVs, EW, equipment, and masking positions. Among the new exercises is shooting down a UAV with a pump-action shotgun.
“Recruits practice it on a simulated drone. That is, on a target attached to a real drone. Simulated drops from drones are made on recruits so that they get used to the realities of modern war and, what is very important, understand how to counter it,” said Oleksandr Pavlyuk.
According to the updated program, more attention is paid to actions during direct contact with the enemy, approaching trenches and clearing them, throwing hand grenades in various conditions, shooting at short distances.
As ArmiyaInform reported, since the beginning of 2022, Ukrainian defenders have received and mastered hundreds of new types of weapons and military equipment. These are at least eight modifications of tanks, 10 types of BMP, nine modifications of armored personnel carriers, more than 50 modifications of self-propelled and towed artillery and MLRS.
