It is noted that four doctors of one of the inter-district medical and social expert commissions were informed of the suspicion in Lviv.
“They falsified medical documentation, on the basis of which men of military age were unjustly given disability. In this way, at least five people left the country. The cost of the “services” was from USD 1,300,” the post states.
Also, according to the prosecutor’s office, two district hospital doctors were exposed in Kyiv region, who offered the man to organize influence on MSEK members to obtain a disability group for 12,000 US dollars.
“A criminal group of seven people was exposed in Odesa, which included the head of the trauma department, a neuropathologist, an official of the regional center of MSEK and four civilians. Doctors produced fake medical documents that allowed them to evade military service, and an employee of MSEK ensured positive decisions of the commission. The amount of remuneration for such “services” ranged from 4,500 to 6,000 US dollars,” the law enforcement officers noted.
All participants of the schemes were notified of the suspicion. They are charged with abuse of influence, obstruction of the legal activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, assistance in illegal transportation of persons across the border, and issuance of a knowingly false official document. The issue of selecting preventive measures for them is being resolved.
Law enforcement agencies of Ukraine regularly report on the exposure of schemes organized to avoid the draft. In particular, at the beginning of October this year, it became known that the State Bureau of Investigation suspects the head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Medical and Social Expertise Center and her son of illegal enrichment. During the searches, they found almost 6 million US dollars in cash in various currencies. Criminal proceedings have been launched regarding the illegal registration of disability for men who are trying to avoid military service.
According to the SBU, since the beginning of 2024, 77 persons involved in corruption crimes in the sphere of activity of medical and social expert commissions (MSEK) have been exposed, and seven criminal groups have been identified among the representatives of the commissions.
