Ukraine’s GDP grew by 4.2% in the first ten months of 2024, with growth supported by transportation, construction and industry, the Ministry of Economy reported on Monday, UNN reports.

Details

“Over the past 10 months, the Ukrainian economy grew by 4.2%,” said First Deputy Economy Minister Oleksiy Sobolev.

According to him, “the construction industry continues to demonstrate upward dynamics due to the implementation of recovery programs and increased demand for construction work.” “Transportation is also among the drivers of the country’s economic growth, primarily due to the stable operation of the grain corridor. Finally, the demand for manufacturing products, in particular in the defense industry, is driving growth in this sector,” Sobolev said.

GDP growth in October 2024 compared to October 2023 was recorded at 1.3%. Transportation, manufacturing, and construction continued to show high positive dynamics. “At the same time, there was a decline in agriculture. The reason for this is the early harvest this year: by October, farmers had already completed the harvest of certain crops,” the report said.

Addendum

According to the Ministry of Economy, in September 2024, GDP growth was recorded at 3.8%, and in the first nine months of the year – 4.5%.
