The so-called “president” of occupied Georgian Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, has resigned, but may withdraw his statement if protesters do not leave government buildings.

Details: The message states that “representatives of the authorities” and the opposition concluded an agreement after negotiations.
According to it, Bzhaniya wrote a resignation letter.
However, the message says, on November 19, the protesters must leave the complex of government buildings in Abkhazia.
Otherwise, Bzhania will withdraw her resignation.
“Vice President” Badra Gunba will become the acting leader of the republic.
What preceded: The Abkhaz opposition rejected the country’s leader Aslan Bzhaniya’s proposal to hold “early elections”. He was given an ultimatum: to resign by the evening of November 17. Otherwise, as the opposition said, a “provisional government” will be organized.
Prehistory:
- On November 15 – the day of the start of large-scale actions in Sukhum – the opposition offered the authorities two options:
- or the president, vice-president and prime minister resign, and the duties of the president until the elections are performed by the speaker of the parliament, Lasha Ashuba;
