The First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska began her visit to Slovenia to participate in a meeting of the Enhancing Human Security Foundation. At this event, she will present projects to help children, teenagers and their families affected by the war.

During the visit, Olena Zelenska and First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyridenko met with the President of the country Natasha Pirts Musar and First Gentleman Alesh Musar and thanked them for their support of Ukraine.

“We appreciate the military aid already provided and the recent decision to transfer the next package. Thank you for your personal participation in the first Peace Summit. We appreciate Slovenia’s firm position regarding our membership in the EU,” said the First Lady of Ukraine.
She noted Slovenia’s intention to participate in the reconstruction of Kharkiv Oblast.

Separately, the wife of the President of Ukraine thanked Alesha Musar for supporting the development of the platform of the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, visiting the de-occupied cities of Kyiv region, and promoting projects aimed at supporting children and teenagers of Donetsk region.

Together with the first gentleman of Slovenia, Olena Zelenska visited the pediatric clinic in Ljubljana. This is one of three Slovenian institutions that will enter into a medical partnership with Ukrainian hospitals.

The Ljubljana Clinic will cooperate with the Volyn Regional Territorial Medical Association for the Protection of Motherhood and Childhood, the Ljubljana Perinatal Clinic with the Odesa Perinatal Center, the Maribor University Clinical Center with the Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital named after Sklifosovsky.

“Slovenian experience will help us, but ours, acquired by Ukrainian doctors in the difficult conditions of war, is worth sharing to save lives in all situations,” the first lady emphasized.

The President’s wife also visited the Ukrainian Saturday school and educational center “Rukavychka”, where she met with teachers, students and forced migrants from Ukraine.

“It is not easy to start all over again in a new country. And the fact that our people, with the help of Sunday schools and clubs, find strength and inspiration to support Ukrainian in themselves deserves great respect,” said the first lady.

She donated equipment and literature on behalf of the Olena Zelenska Foundation to help with education and cultural events.
