Borrell: The US allowed Ukraine to strike Russia “at a distance of up to 300 km”

The EU’s high representative for foreign policy, Josep Borrell, said that the United States allowed Ukraine to strike at a depth of up to 300 kilometers on Russian territory.

Details: When asked why the Joe Biden administration decided to unleash long-range strikes on Russia right now, Borrell said: “The Biden administration has allowed its use up to 300 kilometers deep into Russian territory.”

It is worth noting that the top diplomat of the EU did not clarify his source of information, since official American officials still do not confirm the permission for Ukraine to hit Russia with American weapons.

Borrell also reiterated that in the European Union, each country independently decides on the use of its weapons by Ukraine.

“Today there was no decision on this. Each country will do as it sees fit. The American administration has been saying no for a long time, and this time it said yes,” he concluded.

Earlier, the mass media reported that US President Joe Biden gave permission to Ukraine for the first time to use long-range American weapons – ATACMS missiles – on the territory of the Russian Federation.

According to the Axios portal, it is currently about the territory of the Kursk region, and the decision was conceived as a reaction to the involvement of North Korean troops in the war.
